We all know what to expect at a J D Wetherspoon pub. Where else can you get a pint for £1.99, great coffee for £1.45, a power breakfast for £5.00 or lunch for around a fiver? The kitchen boasts a 5 star food hygiene rating. The Lynd Cross is a spacious and airy environment with a large dining area with a gallery. Sit by one of the many windows and just watch the world go by. TVs display news displayed with headline subtitles.

This pub was converted from a furniture showroom and opened on 24th March 1988. It is large, airy and comfortable. The bad news is that there’s only one bar – but it’s huge! The staff are young, keen and stand no nonsense.

Pub History:
The Lynd Cross was the 14th-century name of the junction between the Bishopric and Springfield Road, which is now the site of this Wetherspoon pub. The first record of a building at this address is in the 1930s, when it was the Old Horsham Bakery. Right next to the pub is the famous (or should that be infamous) Shelley Water Fountain which hasn’t worked properly for years. It is listed by Google as the ‘ugliest fountain in the World’! Why not sup a drink or two whilst you make up your mind about this ‘water feature’!
