Set back off the A272 in the heart of Scaynes Hill, just South of the market town of Haywards Heath; the Farmers Freehouse is a family run Pub offering a very warm welcome. With freshly produced home cooked food and well kept local and national ales along with an excellent choice of wines.
An excellent menu with freshly produced home cooked food including pub classics as well as seasonal specials ensure this family and dog friendly pub is a popular destination.
The Farmers is proving to hit the spot for those of you who love a traditional pub with a quirky edge. An open fire, friendly attentive staff, warm muted tones, cosy sheepskins and candlelight add to a comfortable winter warmth. A large garden, outside bar and fabulous play area make the summer a special experience too.
Food and Drink
Our aim, as a Freehouse, is to provide traditional Pub Classics and daily specials which continually change to make use of locally sourced seasonal produce. We are constantly looking for interesting and varied dishes so any suggestions will always be welcome. Included on our winter specials we will be featuring several varieties of pies made by our award winning chef.
The Farmer’s Sunday lunch always offers a choice of three meats, fresh vegetables and goose fat roast potatoes. We also offer a homemade vegetarian option and can cater for gluten free and other requirements, just ask us. We strongly advise you book to avoid disappointment.
We serve popular local beers such as Harvey’s, Long Man, Gun Brewery as well as interesting guest ales. These, along with popular national beers and lagers, such as Guinness and Heineken, are kept in tip top condition in our state of the art cellar. We also believe in serving quality wines at a fair and competitive price, by the glass as well as by the bottle.
We feel strongly that we uphold the traditions of an English country pub. As a privately owned family run establishment we welcome locals, families, dog walkers, couples and everybody! We have disabled access and a disabled loo for those customers needing easy access.
Our large garden and play area, which we believe is the biggest in Sussex, cleverly provides family fun where children can be watched over as well as more secluded areas.
On sunny summer weekends we offer an outside bar, live music and barbecues. We also have an outside ice-cream shack which is always a favourite with the children.
